Kind words from WSFF customers...
It was a May day in 2014 when we hired Jessie to guide us on a fly fishing trip in Upstate New York. My son (13) and myself were new comers to the sport and had yet fished for, caught and landed "good size" fish. Jessie, full of excitement, gear, knowledge and packed lunches picked us up in the pre-dawn darkness and took us to one of his treasured spots. What unfolded that day was beyond expectation. We not only learned about fly fishing we gained knowledge into habitat, water movement, fish behavior, and fishing etiquette. The whole time Jessie was happy pointing things out, answering a thousand questions all the while taking care of gear and using his expertise to catch fish. Jessie's attitude and professionalism go hand and hand with his passion and love for fly fishing. My son and I had a great day. It seemed Jessie had as much fun that day as we did.

"Having been away from fly fishing for many years, I recently decided to get back into the sport and take advantage of the many opportunities to fish in the Rochester area. I met Jessie Hollenbeck at a casting demo and decided to hire him for a 1/2 day of fishing on Spring Creek. Since I had not been fly fishing for 10 years (never in the Rochester area) I needed help. I could not have picked a better guide; he knew the water intimately, was an excellent instructor, incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic, yet patient at the same time...he had to be with me! Long story short - I learned a lot, had lots of fun and will be booking another trip with Wide Sky Fly Fishing very soon. I would recommend Jessie's services to anyone, from beginner to intermediate to expert."

"What a fabulous time and an incredible education! It was beyond our expectations! The on-stream lesson and coaching for fishing scuds and midges was invaluable. Although you can read about it, attend a workshop, or watch a video -- there's nothing that beats the experience gained by standing in the water and fishing with someone who's a great coach. Thank you for being so generous with sharing your knowledge, your time, and the love of fly fishing with us. Although we've both been fly fishing before, we left feeling confident and successful."

"I've been Fly Fishing for several years now and spent most of my time on various rivers and streams throughout Upstate NY searching for 6-15" trout. I recently bought a 10' 7wt rod with the desire to learn how to Trib fish in Western NY, so my choice of a guide was a bit selective. I met Jessie this past summer and I knew I've found a perfect fit for me to learn Trib fishing. Jessie proved to be the perfect guide for me. He went above and beyond. He has a great personality, tons of patience, is extremely knowledgeable and experienced (and his wife Stacy makes darn good sandwiches and chocolate chip cookies!!). I caught (3) nice fish, (2 browns and 1 Steelhead) on my new rod. Fishing for small trout will never be the same for me! The day was cold, approx.. 20 degrees, but Jessie was patient and focused the entire day. I believe when it was over, we spent a total of 10 hours on the water, all the while observing gorgeous country side. I used several guides over the years and I do admit that Jessie is one of the "Tops", primarily due to his exceptional teaching/coaching style. I look forward to spending yet another day with Jessie very soon!"

"I caught several very nice fish on my trip with Jessie, but what I learned about casting, the water, knots, and more has helped me to become a better fisherman on my own. This season has been great as a result of our trip: I’ve known more about the water I fish, been more efficient with my technique, and caught more fish!"
